This happened three weeks ago over the Raya weekend. We checked out the Borneo Tropical Rainforest resort, an agro and nature resort nestled in pristine an dlush tropical rainforest of the Lambir Hills. Neighbouring the Lambir Hills National Park, the resort was about 40mins away from Miri Town.
As all 18 chalets were booked, we stayed in the deluxe room in the main building. When we got there, we realised only the 4th floor was completed, luckily the rooms were OK. We were disappointed by the BBQ dinner. There was only one grill that BBQ the food for 60+ people! The few staples in the chafting dishes were wiped out clean by the families. Luckily we brought chips and Tim Tams!

We enjoyed the nature walk (check out pic of wild mushroom below), the small waterfalls, and also took a tram ride pulled by a tractor to see the whole estate. We passed the fruit farms, domestic farm, and then took a boat ride. There was also a river where you can do some boating with your kids, and a pond for fishing. Simon would have fished if not for the fact that he would have to pay to fish, for the bait and the catch as well.
If you ever come to Miri, we will bring you to do some trekking at the Lambir Hills National Park. When you go further in, the waterfalls are higher. The two small ones here are more for educational exposure.
