I have been home for six days, including today, taking care of Jon, who is down with cold and cough. When he wakes up, it'll be lots of mucus cleaning and soothing him as he hates to have the wet cloth on his face so many times. He'll drink a little milk, and watch me have breakkie. Poor boy cannot have his usual biscuits or bread, although sometimes I do give him some bread. Then it's off for a nap in the sarong without the air conditioning. It's better without the air conditioning as he can breathe easier. But still his nose tends to get blocked.
The doc did say to watch out for fever as it could be a viral infection. He did have a fever which comes and goes. It also has got to do with Jon not drinking much due to the phlegm in his throat. but he just cannot cough out the phlegm and it pains me to see him cough at night while he sleeps.
When he wakes up, it'll be time for his porridge, then a bath and some play time. I'll try to make him take a nap again in the afternoon before he wakes up just when Simon gets home a little past four. He has an in-built alarm clock that'll wake him up before or just when daddy gets home. Then it's play time again.
Two nights ago, I was so tired I fell asleep without drinking anything. Woke up just after midnight to a horribly painful throat and I thought, "Oh no! I got it from Jon." He snuggles up close to me when he sleeps or when he stirs coz of his cough, I will have to pat or hug him back to sleep. Thankfully it was nothing, and i drank plenty of fluids just in case.
It has been so many days and he is still coughing with lots of mucus and phlegm. His gums are also slightly swollen as his top molars are coming out, so he does cry sometimes over the last two days. Today, we'll bring him to the doc to get something for the gums and have him check Jon.
I did this layout last Fri but didn't have time to post it. It's of my small group in Singapore, the girls particularly. They have been there for me and I appreciate their prayer, fellowship and support. The photo was taken at a surprise farewell party in May 2007 that they threw for Simon and me before we left Singapore. They got everyone to wear pink and purple, the colour scheme of our wedding. I miss being able to just call them for a chat or meeting them for a meal and their fellowship. We do have MSN, the Internet and Facebook. But nothing beats meeting them in person...
