Completed a...

... a layout of Jillian's photo taken during Christmas with Collage Press Joyride Crafting Kit. It's my fifth layout of my 5mnth young baby.

One year ago in January 2009, I found out I was pregnant. Actually during Christmas 2008, I suspected I was pregnant, but was too busy during my trip back to Singapore to do a test. Plus I was taking care of super active Jonathon. So, I waited till I got back to Miri to test. Then a year later, I have a baby girl to celebrate Christmas.

When I was pregnant, I couldn't believe that I had a little girl inside of me. A darling whom I will be able to share, in future, my love for bags and jewellery (more like accessories, since I love costume jewellery too). She brings so much joy to our lives. She loves to laugh and coo at you if you would just give her your attention, smile at her or talk to her. She is such a happy baby. I couldn't ask for more. Thank you for this wonderful bundle of joy, God.

Three in a row

Three in a row, ready to go.

I just printed a few of Jillian's photos, not caring that they are not perfect and need to be cropped or edited. And I scrapped. It was therapeutic!

I used mainly October Afternoon's Cherry Hill and journaling cards, and Cosmo Cricket's papers. Old stuff, but nice stuff that I have been hoarding. And I chose the simple route, otherwise I will have to spend a few half hours over a few days.
This is about Jillian's arrival. Although she's my #2, her arrival is still surreal and this time round, I had no words to describe how I felt. Only knew I wanted to love her, and hug her.
The second one was of Jonathan and Jillian and how he was confused initially coz there were two babies in the house. But after playing with her a few times, he knew Jillian was his mei mei.
And lastly, this fav photo was taken in the morning when Jillian is the happiest. It's about how alert and responsive she was at a young age of two and a half months. Inspired by Jennifer Johner's work.

Jealousy

Remember I said earlier during Jillian's first month that Jonathan was quite man and will just say hi to Jillian and then ignore her coz she's still young? Well now that Jillian's into her second month, he's displayed manifestations of jealousy! He will kick up a fuss when he sees me carrying Jill. Even when I walk past Jill and have no intention of carrying her up from the crib, he will quickly run to me and ask me to "bao bao!"

After mentioning this to a mother who was sitting beside me at church, I have carried Jillian downstairs where Jon has access to the TV, his toys and books. So hopefully he will be distracted by other things.

Any tips on dealing with sibling jealousy? Esp when the older one is still a toddler and is learning to push his boundaries? and their age gap is very small?

Here's a photo I managed to snap of Jill when she's awake this morning.

And a LO of Jon's photo taken last weekend "Did you know toddlerhood is no walk in the park". Love Sassafrasslass Montrosity papers. Thanks Yin for helping me get them!!!

Jon has turned to the dark side...the sticky & terrible age of two. And he's displayed traits of jealousy to his baby sister. I do love my little man, but sometimes he can really drive me nuts. Here, he is all sweet and docile, I just have to scrap the photo with Sassafrasslass Montrosity papers.

Journaling: This look belies the speeds, highs and lows of a roller coaster, intensified energy & controlled chaos that a toddlerhood joyride brings.

Jillian with her kor kor

I have mentioned before that Jon being the BIG man, will acknowledge his sister's presence and say hello to her in the mornings. But that's about it. He knows she is too young to play with him. I managed to ask him to clim onto the bed for a photo with Jillian. He kept very still beside Jillian. I was wondering if he wasn't in the mood to say a cheery "mei mei" coz he had just woken up, or he didn't want to move too much in case he hurt her (coz each time he goes near his baby cousin, we are quite afraid he will jump up and land on her and tell him to be careful).

I know these days, he will play with his Thomas the train, and his cousin Mabel will follow after him as he follows the train. I wonder when will Jillian be able to follow after Jon.

He currently has two girl cousins, Megan and Mabel, and another one more coming End Oct, early Nov. With Jillian, he will have four female playdates! Another sis-in-law, Ee Chiew, will be giving birth to a baby boy next month, but he will be in Singapore & JB (looked after by grandma). He needs more guys around him! Maybe another sibling, and hopefully a boy? LOL!

In the meantime, here's more photos of Jillian...my cute little angel!
