This is a layout of a photo of me feeding Jon his birthday cupcake on his first birthday. Love, love Sassafraslas Life at the Pole patterned papers! I got them in Dec, but only found the mojo to scrap now. Once, I took out the photo and papers, it was a DEADLY (Drop Everything And Do Layout! Yeah!) moment! Then I found a couple of SSF Pal Around chipboard animals and included them. They make me so happy.Tuesday, March 31, 2009

To the fruit stall we went

Not to worry, I locked the doors and the hand brakes were engaged.
Then there's also the cheeky-I-am-going-to-do-something-naughty look, and I-am-going-to-beat-you look. Hopefully, I will be able to capture those two looks one day, although I don't like the later look.Friday, March 27, 2009
Check out my wheels
I have not been taking much photos of Jon the first few months of this year, partly due to the lethargy of my first trimester, and partly coz he would grab the camera from me. Yesterday, I had to cajole him into letting me take his photos. He didn't fall for my trick of giving him the camera case.
But in the end, he did obliged with a couple of smiles.

We're having a girl
I had polled friends on FB and 56% guessed we're having a boy, 33% thought it would be a girl and 11% said twins!. So nice that they joined in the fun to guess. It's not like I am making a mountain out of a molehill, but I just thought I would have some fun. After all, the first trimester wasn't fun for me at all.
I would show Jonathan my belly and tell him that there's a baby in there. Jon would touch my belly and say, "Baby." I think he knows what I am telling him, coz his cousin stays at our place, taken care by MIL, and he calls her "baby" or "meimei". Can't wait for him to have a playmate.
On another note, Jonathan's favourite phrase now is "Ai yoooooouu". He had heard grandma said "aiyo" whenever he did something he's not supposed to do, and he's taken to saying the same when he spills or drops something. Except he extends the "yo" to become "yooooouuu"! Very funny, I tell you. How to get angry with the fella?
I got Simon to help me correct some recent photos of Jon and print them out. I realised if I don't print the photos out, I will not be inspired to scrap. So hopefully, I'll be able to find some time and quiet moments to scrap.

Now I am sick
Taking care of Jon at night has been difficult the last two nights. We sleep with the air-conditioning on and it's tough with a blocked nose. And Jon just refuses to go to sleep, he wants to play with me. On Tuesday night, I allowed him to play a little longer so he will be tired and fall straight into bed. But from two to four am, he woke up! I gave him a fruity drink, his milk and played with him for a while. Still he refused to sleep and even hit me when I fell asleep. I was so tired and tried to keep awake by listening to him. He came so close to me I was so afraid I would spread the germs to him. He even made me take him to the toilet when I had to go. I was so relived when he finally feel asleep.
Last night, he didn't want to sleep at all. I tried to make him sleep in the sarong from nine to 10pm. Then I brought him to the room, thinking, "OK, let's do this the big boy way. I will talk to him and sing him to sleep like I did a few nights before." No such luck! He played in the room and at 11+pm when I brought him to the toilet, mother-in-law came to take him to another bedroom where his baby cousin was sleeping. She said she will make him sleep in the sarong and then bring him over. I was too tired to even say thank you! She brought him over around midnight. But I tell you, from 10pm to 2.30am, Jon went through two small milk feeds and two bottles of water. I had to change his diapers again.
Now I am just pooped out.
Where is Simon? He's been on a fishing trip to Luconia since Sat night and will be back before lunch today. I hope he caught lots of fish. I would love to have some sashimi or steamed fish. But I am coughing and not supposed to eat fish coz it'll make the phlegm worse! Sigh....just glad that he'll be back and help me take care of Jon.

Poor Jon is sick

Jonathan's a toddler
He's also wanting to drink from adult glasses or cups. I think after all the time watching us stir our hot drinks during breakfast time has made him want his own cup and spoon. Sometimes I can distract him with a plastic cup and spoon, sometimes not. No, he doesn't like his sippy cup.
Some days, we will also pretend play with a big spoon and a large container in the study. he would pretend he's stirring something in his pot and feed me spoonfuls of his concoctions. And all the time saying, "Aaaarrrm." Just like what I say to Jon when feeding him. Here's a shot of him with us at a local coffee shop after church service on SundayI am currently so in love with these mini tag books made by Erinzam. They're about 3inches long and width and and you can jot down your thoughts or doodle whenever you're inspired.
Don't you just love this Squirrel book? It's the perfect place to squirrel away your thoughts, ideas and sketches on the go?
